Mid-Trail Motel

The room was pleasant and clean. I have stayed in this motel and room in the past before the present owners. They have done some remodeling and are still working on a few things. I loved the addition of the mini refrigerator. Good internet and tv reception. It is also handy to have a nice laundromat for those staying longer than a day or two. This motel is a pleasant place to stay and the owners are easy to work with. I plan on staying here again when I am in the area.

Small and basic budget motel that gets it right -- an excellent value! Our room was clean and inviting. Lots of thoughtful touches (extra chair and table, plenty of room for our bicycles, enough hooks to hang things up). The bed was excellent and we slept well. We had no problem getting into our room with the keycode, and were surprised and pleased that the room was warm when we entered (it was a chilly day). Motel is bike friendly and located only a couple of blocks from the Elroy-Sparta trail. There's a friendly bar with good food (Hitching Post) within a block or so. Will stay again if in the area.

We were impressed with the hotel's cleanliness and detail. It was neat being in a four-unit motel., very relaxed and informal in the rustic town of Wilton. Electronic locks are a nice feature. The Elroy-Sparta bike trail is just several blocks away. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, Mid-Trail Motel is the perfect place to stay if you are contemplating biking the Elroy-Sparta bike trail. Recommend starting your trip going up towards Sparta so you can have a more leisurely downhill return ride!

Pleasant stay 2 nights. It rained both days. We was able to bike a little. Hitchin post and school house were convenient for suppers. Mid-Trail Motel could have mowed the grass, removed a container with hundreds of cig. Butts on the porch and moved an old pickup parked in front. Did not see or hear anyone else in the motel. Would stay again and recommend to all. 5 stars.

We loved this place! It is a perfect location for us to bike the Elroy-Sparta Trail & canoe the Kickapoo River. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, a coffee maker, microwave, and a nice refrigerator with a separate little freezer compartment. We also appreciated the hand-held shower head & the night light in the bathroom -- and the super affordable rates! Levi was very helpful and quick to respond. All these things more than made up for the lack of off-street parking & the street traffic. Will definitely look forward to staying here again!

I really liked my stay in Mid Trail motel. The town and hotel were really cute. The rooms were clean and the bathroom had new fixtures. I liked how the hotel had a locking keypad, so I didn't have to worry about forgetting the keys or cards. It was especially nice since I was biking in and didn't know what time I'd make it in. The owners were really nice and really responsive when I asked them questions. They also let me change my dates when a storm delayed me by a day. Although the rooms were quaint, they had a lot of modern equipment. I especially liked their Roku TV which allowed me to watch my streaming services on the TV rather than my phone.

This is a great little motel. For bike riding it's right in the middle of the Elroy/Sparta trail. It's bike friendly, the rooms are refurbished in a pleasing way and the place is clean. Don't be fooled by the reasonable price it's not rundown. Also the Hitching Post just down the street has a great bar and food. You won't be disappointed.

Greatly exceeded my expectations! Flooring in the room appeared quite new and was very clean. Appreciated the fridge, microwave and Keurig machine. Bed was comfy and the shower had plenty of warm water. Met my needs greatly as I was looking for a shower and a place to sleep. Easy nearby access to the bike trail and Wildcat Mountain SP.
